About the workshop
This workshop is organized in the context of the 2010 George Montefiore international prize. It was decided that the 2010 issue of the prize would be devoted to Smart Grids.
Following a call for applications launched in 2010, the jury of the Montefiore prize has decided to give this award to Prof. Göran ANDERSSON (ETH Zurich, Switzerland) and Prof. Athanasios P. MELIOPOULOS (Georgia Inst. of Technology, USA) in recognition for their numerous important contributions in the area of Electric Power Engineering.
The prize-winners have collaborated with AIM towards setting up the program of this workshop. The latter will take place on Sept. 16, 2011, the day after the award solemn ceremony organized by AIM.
The workshop will be a unique opportunity to listen to and exchange views with a panel of renowned power system experts, both from academia and industry, covering various aspects of power systems, Information Technology, electricity markets, grid operation and control, etc.
