NUMELEC 2008
is a conference dedicated to electromagnetic field computation. It aims
at offering to both communities, working respectively in the domains of
low and high frequencies, the possibility to meet. Organized during
three days, it will include oral and poster sessions, and is
complemented by discussion sessions focused on shared subjects. This
will allow to point out some headlines which could be useful for both
communities. Major topics of the Conference are: Topic 1: General problems Formulations, radiation and scattering, boundary conditions, absorbing boundaries, time dependent domains, etc.
Topic 2: Computation methods Numerical
methods: finite elements, boundary integral method, equivalent charge
method, finite difference, meshless methods, etc.Mesh generation, error
estimators, mixed methods, fast methods, asymptotic methods, other
methods.
Topic 3: Methods to solve large systems Iterative methods, multipole methods, preconditioners, eigenvalue problems, parallel and vector computations.
Topic 4: Material modelling Superconducting
materials, composite materials, anisotropy, photonic bandgap
structures, absorbing materials, permanent magnets, homogenization,
ferromagnetic, ferroelectrics, metamaterials, active materials.
Topic 5: Coupled problems Multi-physic
problems, electromagnetic field problems coupled to thermal or
mechanical problems, magneto-hydrodynamics, electric and electronic
circuits, plasma.
Topic 6: Design and optimization Sensitivity analysis, optimization, experimental designs, neural networks, inverse problems, software environments.
Topic 7: Applications EMC,
electrical machines, microwave and induction heating, interaction
between waves and organic or inorganic matter, eddy current or
microwave non destructive testing, antennas, S.E.R., circuits,
education.
